Hi everyone, welcome to GreenMonk TV. We're here at Logica in the UK and with me today I have Tony Rook, Head of Sustainability and Environment at Logica UK. Okay. Tony, can you tell us some details of two aspects of Logica's sustainability efforts? One is your own internal efforts around sustainability and second is how you are empowering your customers to achieve their sustainability targets. Okay. Internally, we've set out a metric around measuring it, reducing it, transforming it, transforming the way we do things, communicating it and then reviewing as a strategy and having that as a constant circular method of doing our environmental performance. We've then learned from that and seen that it is the right way to do it and actually we're applying that as we go out to our customers, taking them on a sustainability journey so they can understand where they start from and where they need to be to transform into that sustainable business. Okay. So, can you give me some concrete examples of ways you have addressed sustainability internally and then talk to us if you have some case studies around customer wins? Yeah. Okay. Internally, we've looked at our energy and our carbon footprint. That's the first part of what we did. So, we started calculating our carbon footprint, getting all the data together. We benchmarked 2006 and then announced that we were reducing energy through switch-off initiatives, through webinars, through awareness raising things with staff, as well as infrastructure projects internally within Logica. For example, our new eco-data centre with free air cooling, in-rack cooling, we've done printer initiatives and everything else around that.

This has then saved us energy. It's saved our carbon footprint, reduced it and saved us money. Second side, we've been installing more recycling facilities, for example, and as a result of which, we've seen our waste to landfill go down by 23% in two years. In terms of the energy, last year, we reduced our total electricity by 3% in our operational offices. And that is 70% of our carbon footprint anyway. So, it's a big deal. Externally, we have another of offerings that we've taken to our clients. Again, applying that circular of measure, reduce, transform, communicate and review. And from consultancy, through specific efforts in terms of measuring, and one of the ones that we're actually bringing forward as soon is called CIRA, Sustainability Indicator Reporting Application. That's fed in a lot of the lessons that we've learnt from internally. On the reduction side, we've done consolidations of servers for our clients, where we save them 80% on their energy costs from that ITU's fly-sation. We've also implemented a wind farm control system, and that's been implemented in Spain and Portugal. I believe it's now controlling 2,000 turbines in 80 different wind farms across the Iberian Peninsula. Fantastic. Great. As a resident of Spain, I applaud your efforts. Thanks very much. And thanks a million for coming on the show. Thank you.
